Root Barrier C3 is a tough and durable barrier, resistant to root penetration, and designed to protect structures and services from tree root damage, as well as controlling the spread of invasive plants (such as Japanese knotweed, Mares Tail and Bamboo).
Triple impermeable coating layers and twin reinforcement give this membrane the durability of a ground engineering fabric with the impenetrability of a geo-membrane. It is completely resistant to root penetration.
Tree Pits: Lining the sides of planting pits with Roof Barrier C3 controls sideways spread of roots into the surrounding area where they can cause damage to property, pavements and services.
Foundations: Installing a buried perimeter sheet wall of Root Barrier C3 can prevent roots undermining foundations and controls subsidence from ground shrinkage caused by trees drawing moisture out of the soil.
Service Channels: Encasing new service trenches with Root Barrier C3 protects pipes from root fracture, and also provides a physical warning during any subsequent excavations.
Features: Roof Barrier C3 is a sophisticated composite membrane consisting of triple coating and twin reinforcing layers thermally bonded together to produce an extremely tough, durable and puncture resistant impermeable, flexible barrier against root penetration. The fabric is also highly resistant to natural acids, alkalis, bacteria and fungi.

This is a mechanically bonded geo-composite consisting of a copper foil embedded between 2 layers of geo-textile, for specific use in root barrier applications. The strength of this barrier not only comes from its tensile strength but more importantly from its copper core. Copper creates a biological chemical barrier which makes it impenetrable to all root growth. This barrier is particularly suited to applications which require the free percolation of water as its is also permeable.
Its permeability allows this barrier to be installed horizontally without adverse affect to free drainage. The barriers composites means that in most horizontal and vertical applications it does not require blinding layers on either side, such as a non-porous barrier without a copper core.
